Two of the most common technical items that one might need to look for while playing the game are Save and Configuration files. However, finding these files is not an easy task and one has to have a good knowledge of navigating PC drives to locate them.

The good news is that we have already done the hard work for you. This guide will help you locate your Dying Light 2 Save and Config (or Configuration) file location in the PC where you have installed your game. Just go through the below-mentioned steps, and you will easily be able to locate your Config and Save files.

Dying Light 2 Save File Location

Here is where the Dying Light 2 Save files are located by default:

/userdata//534380/remote/out/

“534380” is the game ID of Dying Light 2.

Now, by default, your Steam Folder is supposed to be located in this location:

64-bit Windows: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam

Unless, you have installed Steam on a different drive. If you have your “steamapps” folder in a different drive, then also the location given above is relevant.

There’s also an additional backup folder under:

C:\Users\User\Documents\dying light 2\out\save_backups

If you have logged in on Steam with multiple IDs, then you will notice multiple folders inside the “userdata” folder. In that case, here is how to find which one is your current Steam user ID:

Go to your Steam InventoryClick on Trade OffersNow click on “Who can send me Trade Offers” from the rightScroll down and look under “Third-Party Sites”You will notice your Trade URL thereThe digits or numbers after “https://steamcommunity.com/tradeoffer/new/?partner=” is your user IDFor example: If my trade url is “https://steamcommunity.com/tradeoffer/new/?partner=123456789”, then my Steam ID is 123456789Now, look for the folder that matches your user ID inside the “userdata” folder

Yes, there are other ways you can find your ID, but these are the steps that I personally use.

Dying Light 2 Config File Location

Here is the default location of the Dying Light 2 Config file:

C:\Users\User\Documents\dying light 2\out\settings

The default format of the Config file is .ini. But for some reason, if there is a need for you to edit the file, then you can do that by opening it with Notepad or Wordpad.

Note: Although the Config file is editable, we strongly suggest that you don’t try to edit it, unless of course you are familiar with the Config file coding and are absolutely confident that whatever changes you do will not cause the game to break.
